Comfort Quilts

March 2nd, 2020

Even though we are not having meetings due to Covid-19, please continue to make and donate to our Comfort Quilt endeavor.  The need is still ongoing!

The Heritage Quilters’ Guild strives to give back to our communities
by helping area organizations who help others.

Within Heritage Quilters, we have the “Comfort Quilts and Things” committee which organizes the construction of quilts and things for organizations and individuals who are in need of comfort.  The “Comfort Quilts and Things” are made by the wonderful quilters in our Guild and surrounding communities.

Here are some of the ways and organizations we have contributed recently:

Quilts and Pillowcases:

“Kids’ Quilts” (quilts for area organizations and individuals),  “Indiana Veterans’ Quilts” (quilts for Indiana Veterans’ Home in West Lafayette, IN),  Hoosier Burn Camp (quilts and pillowcases for all campers).

Comfort Quilts have also been given to the following organizations; Carmelite Home in East Chicago; Gabriel’s Horn in Valparaiso; Geminus Center in Merrillville; Haven House, Hammond; Henderson Settlement through First United Methodist Church of Crown Point; Kids’ Peace in Merrillville; Lydia’s Safe Families in Cedar Lake; Muscular Dystrophy Camp; Nazareth House in East Chicago; Neonatal units in various hospitals; NW Indiana Hospice; Phil’s Friends in Crown Point; Sandcastles in Michigan City; Sojourners Truth House in Gary; St. Bridget Infants Care in Hobart; St. Clare’s Clinic in Crown Point; St. Francis in Dyer; St. Jude Home in Crown Point; St. Monica in Dyer; Swaddling Clothes through Grace Lutheran Church of Dyer.
